Skill Level
Confident beginner to intermediate.
This pattern is designed to be approachable, with a simple silhouette and minimal pattern pieces, while introducing a few more considered techniques.
You will learn:
setting and easing a sleeve into a dropped armhole
working with thicker or quilted fabrics
reversible (bagged out) construction
clean finishing techniques
No advanced pattern-making experience is required, but some familiarity with a sewing machine and basic garment construction will be helpful.
Size Range
Size Range: XS–XL
The Frill Coat is designed with a relaxed, oversized silhouette, allowing flexibility across sizes and ease of layering.
Refer to the size chart for detailed measurements and choose your size based on desired fit — please note that the coat is meant to be a very sculptural and oversized in design.
SIZING & FIT
The Frill Coat is designed with a relaxed, oversized silhouette and a dropped shoulder. This allows the garment to sit softly on the body, creating ease, movement, and room for layering.
Rather than fitting closely, the coat is intended to fall naturally, with the fabric providing structure and shape. Because of this, each size can comfortably accommodate a range of body shapes.
